Frequently Asked Questions
Physical Therapy is a critical step step to prioritizing your health and getting your body to feel good again. To help you prepare for to work with us, here are (almost) all the burning questions that we frequently get when people want to book with us:
Where is Strength in Motion located?
Strength in Motion has physical clinic locations in New York City and Lakewood, Colorado.
We also provide virtual physical therapy through our Virtual Consultation service. Our Virtual Consultation service is telehealth physical therapy provided 1-on-1 via video call.
What does it mean to be an out-of-network physical therapy provider?
How much does physical therapy cost?
You can find initial rates on our Request an Appointment page. While we know everyone has different financial needs and freedoms, our Clinical Pathways allow us the opportunity to work with you while respecting your budget. Payment plans for services are also available upon request.
Can I get reimbursed by my medical insurance provider?
If you have out of network benefits many patients have been successful in full or partial reimbursement or application of their visits towards a deductible. It is always best to speak with your insurance provider to fully understand your benefits and what you would need to maximize the potential for reimbursement of out-of-network physical therapy services.
What's the difference between in-person and virtual physical therapy?
There can be many factors here including preference, convenience, or your geographical location. There is growing research to suggest whether physical therapy is delivered “in person” or through a virtual experience the outcomes are the same, and in some cases better, when delivered via telehealth! To learn more about virtual physical therapy, visit our Virtual Consultation page.
What should I expect on my first physical therapy appointment?
At SiM we prioritize patient communication and individualized care. Above all else, expect to be listened to, validated and leave with a better understanding of your current experience. Additionally, we’ll discuss a strategy of how we can help you, and how you can empower yourself to achieve your goals. Every person, condition, and interaction is unique and our process caters to your needs rather than having a “cookbook” or standardized approach to your care.
Can my physical therapist provide me with a diagnosis?
Yes. Physical therapists are skilled healthcare professionals who are able to provide diagnosis and prognosis through understanding your unique history and movement function.
Do you communicate with my other health care providers?
One of the biggest opportunities in healthcare is facilitating a team approach. Whether you have an MD, massage therapist, fellow physical therapist or coach/trainer on your team we are always willing to communicate and work with providers to better facilitate your journey towards your goals.
