Joe’s Journey to Physical Therapy: Throughout my time as a PT I always wanted more. More for myself, and more for my patients. Through my experiences, time with mentors, countless continuing education courses, teaching around the world, and my own personal battle with depression, I began to question what I could actually do as a Physical Therapist, and perhaps more importantly, what I could do better as a human being.

I began to develop a style of care that centered around education, empowerment, and communication.

It was there I discovered the importance of empathy and compassion, and how these tools were the biggest thing missing in my ability to help people in the past. With the birth of my daughter in 2014, these thoughts and ideas became even more clear and helped me re-shaped my view on life and my career.

I started Strength in Motion Physical Therapy in 2018 with the goal of truly being able to deliver a patient centered model that was of the standards I, and patients, expected and deserved. My passions and clinical interests revolve around helping those in chronic pain, particularly of the lower back and lower extremity including hips, knees and ankles/feet.

Through utilization of education, lifestyle and behavior coaching, as well as techniques and systems such as Functional Range Conditioning/Functional Range Release, Kinstretch, RockTape, and Functional Movement/Selective Functional Movement Assessments, I am now proud to offer care the way it was meant to be received, and with one goal in mind – to keep you moving forward.

Other Certifications and Accolades: Certified Clinical Athlete Provider & Strength Coach

Originally from Queens, New York, Albie brings a high-energy, movement-first approach to helping people get out of pain and back to doing what they love. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology from West Virginia University and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Franklin Pierce University.

Albie works with active individuals and athletes of all levels who feel limited by pain, injury, or frustration with their current progress. Whether you’re trying to get back to lifting, running, golfing, or simply moving without hesitation, his focus is on helping you rebuild confidence in your body—not just temporarily feel better.

After spending four years traveling across the country working in orthopedic clinics, Albie has helped a wide range of people navigate everything from acute injuries to long-standing pain. That experience shaped his belief that rehab shouldn’t feel generic or passive—it should be personalized, progressive, and built around your goals.

His approach blends strength training, movement education, and clear communication so you understand why you’re doing what you’re doing—and how to keep making progress long after your sessions end.

If you’ve been told to “just rest,” feel stuck in your recovery, or aren’t sure what to do next, Albie is here to help you take control and move forward with confidence.

Outside of the clinic, you’ll find Albie golfing, lifting, snowboarding, cooking, or spending time with friends and family.

Albie works with patients via Telehealth and in person at our New York City location.
